Create a workspace

A workspace is your organization's space in Govern365 (policies, frameworks, projects, and so on). You need at least one workspace to use the main app beyond the sign-in / setup flows.

When this screen appears

  • /create-workspace — You are signed in, onboarding is complete, but you are not a member of any workspace yet. The app sends you here automatically instead of the dashboard.
  • From the sidebar — You can also open Create new workspace from the workspace switcher area when the product allows adding another organization (the flow uses the same form; you can usually Cancel or close that dialog).

On /create-workspace, the dialog is required until you create a workspace: you cannot dismiss it with Escape or by clicking outside.

What to enter

FieldRequired?Notes
Workspace nameYesShown as the organization name (for example your company name).
Workspace handleYesPart of your workspace URL in the preview (letters, numbers, and hyphens after your app domain). It must be unique across Govern365.
Workspace logoNoOptional image — PNG, JPG, or WebP.

The handle often auto-fills from the name until you edit it yourself.

After you choose Create workspace

  • The app creates the workspace and makes you an Admin there.
  • You are switched to that workspace automatically (your session updates).
  • On the /create-workspace page, you are then taken to the dashboard so you can continue.
